Life Purpose Questions

What are you good at? What are your skills, gifts and abilities?

If you could do anything, regardless of the need for income or other limitations, what would you do?

If you could make a particular contribution to the world, what would it be?

Consider your family, community, society, planet. What is it that needs doing?

Consider how you actually spend your time. What would you like to do more of? What would you like to do less of?

What would you like to leave behind as your legacy when you die?

If you could take some risk that might change your life, what would it be?

"For years I questioned what the meaning for my life was... why was I here? I could think of a number of reasons to live, and could imagine more that one purpose to devote my life to, but ultimately I never felt that I was clear about the meaning of my life.

Then on day it occurred to me that maybe I'd had it backwards all along, that instead of focusing my energy on finding some purpose and meaning in my life, I need to make my daily life more meaningful. So ultimately I needed to forget about the questions and live the answers I had. So I decided to focus on shaping my everyday life in ways that reflected my personal values--time with my family and friends, time in my garde, time in service to others, and time for myself."
-Tammy Fowles

"A helpful question is, ‘should I die tomorrow, what would I regret not having started, out of fear or laziness or procrastination?' Another question is ‘what can I return to the world with my particular blends of talents, strengths, weaknesses, and experience?'"
-Trudy Boyle

What am I good at? When I was in college, I changed my major several times. Once, a friend told me I should stick with Psychology because...."you are easy to talk to." What a beautiful compliment. I recognize, at least at times, I am a compassionate listener. My goal today is to step away from my own concerns and listen with compassion. Suzanne

whatever I have to accomplish yet is left to me: stories of my experience, strength and HOPE. I still believe in FAITH and HOPE, because it gets me through the days I do not DRINK. I want to be ALIVE, to MOVE FORWARD and BE the BEST I can BE for the DAY! What else is there?
